Trunk Show August 15th-17th ONLINE & in the Shop with Master Designer of Murano Jewelry from Venice, Italy - Welcome Venetian Dinner at Scossa Aug. 15th Friday evening.

We are so pleased to be hosting Leslie Genninger, from Venice, Italy, Master Designer of One-of-a-Kind Murano Glass jewelry and other beautiful glass items, and her husband, Michele Benzoni, an architect, for the weekend of Aug. 15th – 17th. This is the third in a series of artisan visits from Italy that Simpatico has hosted in the last 18 months. We are thrilled to be able to continue to bridge the cultures between Italy and Talbot County and beyond with our Online Shop, with our wonderful artisan partners who visit us here in St. Michaels.

Leslie's one-of-a-kind jewelry collection, created with her Murano Glass bead designs and her unique goblets and lighting, are all hand-blown and flameworked by Venetian Glass Masters using 1000 year old techniques and 24K gold and silver leaf. We will be serving Prosecco and Venetian Cicchetti during the Trunk Show from 10 AM to 5 PM Saturday as customers view Leslie’s large collection of necklaces, bracelets, earrings, cufflinks, pins, and goblets. We decided to use the technology to share this exciting event “virtually” with anyone who can access our Online Shop; the online trunk show will be online through Monday the 18th.

We found Leslie much like we find most of our artisans, from a visit to Venice a few years ago and admiring her work, and wishing we could bring it back to share with people here in the US. Once we opened the shop in 2004, we contacted Leslie again on our next trip to Italy. Leslie had moved the shop/studio, so it took a bit of persistence to find her again, but we did, and we are glad we did.

Activities planned over the weekend include a special Venetian dinner at Scossa, Easton, MD, Friday evening open to interested parties, the trunk show Saturday and Sunday, and of course eating crabs in St. Michaels.
