About the Event

Join us this Saturday and Sunday as we introduce you to new wines from all over Italy. For just $5.00, you will receive a Simpatico Tasting Glass and will taste up to 3 wines to "expand your palate" and we will share food tastings of cheeses and spreads!

Our Italian Wine Experts, Davide Megna of Impero Wines, and Cristina and Marco Doria of Doria Wines, will share some of the best wines from their portfolios.

Meet Ginda Simpson, prolific Artist, Author and Traveler, and peruse her art of Umbria and jewelry made from pieces she has collected in antique markets in Italy. Ginda has lived in the Umbrian Countryside of Italy for years and divides her time between her home there and here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Ginda has lived in Italy, Germany and Egypt and has traveled in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India, Russia, Southeast Asia and China.

Davide will be offering on Saturday:

Abbazia Villa Balestra Pink Moscato Rose - Young and fresh sparkling wine with brilliant light pink color. It has a fresh Moscato aroma and taste. Thanks to the low alcohol level, it is suitable for a refreshing break, for your aperitif and for cocktails.

Vite Colte Tra Donne Sole Sauvignon Blanc - Straw yellow color with gold hues. Aromas that are remarkably intense and complex, enriched with notes of elderflower and tomato leaves. On the palate it is complex and silky, with notes of vanilla and apple strudel, accompanied by hints of mint and liquorice.

Boschetto di Montiano Io&Te Morellino di Scansano - Intense purple red wine, with delicate aromas reminiscent of small red fruits and an intense and slightly balsamic finish. In the mouth it is fresh and fruity. It goes perfectly with cured meats, white and/or red meats, but also with semi-mature cheeses.

Masca del Tacco Susumaniello - One of our most popular wines from Chocolatefest! From 100% Susumaniello, it is dark ruby red with purple shades. On the nose gives red and black fruits, a gentle zesty sensation, red flowers and hints of spices. Smooth and full bodied on the mouth, ripe tannins, fresh and satisfying.

Cristina and Marco will be offering on Sunday:

Kocjancic Rado Vitovska Carso DOC - Intense straw yellow with golden reflections. The aroma is delicate with pleasant floral notes that intertwine with mineral hints to leave room for fruity scents of peach and pear. Soft and savory on the palate, fresh and well balanced. Enveloping. Excellent as an aperitif, it goes well with fish, vegetables and fresh cheeses. Must try with the Caprese salad.

Asotom Ops Grignolino - 100% Gignolino. Murky, garnet colored with aromas of rose petals, rosehip and pomegranate. Grainy tannic finish sprinkled with wet leaves and pieces of a broken cigar box.

Di Barrò Torrette Vallée D’Aoste DOC - A micro-winery star of the Petit Rouge grape. Fruit-forward with herbaceous notes.

Cascina Delle Rocche Moscato D’Asti DOCG Bric D'Asura - 100% Moscato Bianco di Canelli. Citrus flowers, sage , white fruits born to pair with dessert but ideal for a spicy meal or alone as a five o’clock wine.
